What are the benefits of sauna and cold plunge

The combination of using a sauna and then immersing yourself in cold water, also known as contrast therapy, can have many health benefits, including:

  1. Improved circulation: The heat from the sauna causes blood vessels to dilate, while the cold water constricts them, which can improve circulation.

  2. Reduced inflammation: Both saunas and cold plunges can help reduce inflammation.

  3. Boosted immune function: Both saunas and cold plunges can help boost your immune system.

  4. Improved mental clarity: The combination of sauna and cold plunge can help enhance mental clarity.

  5. Pain relief: The heat and cold treatment can increase blood flow, raise your heart rate, and boost endorphins, which can reduce pain.

  6. Better sleep: Saunas can help improve sleep.

  7. Increased fat-burning metabolism: Cold plunges can help increase your metabolic rate by converting white fat to brown fat, which burns itself.

  8. Reduced risk of heart attack: Cold plunges can help lower "bad" LDL cholesterol, which can reduce the risk of fatty plaques blocking your blood vessels and heart attacks.

How Do I plunge

Most guests follow a rotation: start in the sauna for 10-15 minutes, rinse off in a warm shower, spend 30 seconds to 5 minutes in the cold tub, and then rest for a few minutes before repeating that process one or two more times.

Is it good to go from sauna to cold plunge?

The combination of sauna and cold plunge, also known as contrast therapy, has been shown to have numerous health benefits—including improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and enhanced mental clarity.

What is the best thing to do right after a sauna?

When you get home from your sauna session it is great to take a warm shower to wash off the toxins that are now on the outside of your skin. Many find that a cool shower rinse after a warm shower invigorates them and their skin. So enjoy a good shower followed by a cool rinse. This will also close up the pores.
